With the deadline for the payment of the 2013 taxes approaching fast, the usual confusion at this time of the year is seen all across the country among the highly vexed and hassled tax payers – in a last minute rush to get their finances in order before time runs out. And typically, this time of the year sees a peak in the the hourly wages of your friendly neighborhood accountant. So the average American tax payer ends up shelling out an inordinately high amount in getting the right income tax services, which is comparable to the actual taxes that he or she ends up paying. A much simpler and economical solution would be to file the 2013 taxes yourself using the excellent tax software that is available in the market.

Tax Software :
A tax software is a special software with the sole purpose of helping an individual or a business to prepare income tax returns and also file it successfully. Tax software are available in stand alone packages or in a special Software As a Service (SaaS) form. Why buy tax software to file your 2013 taxes ?
While there are several good reasons for you to do so, we have three in mind. Firstly, there is no reason for you to hire an accountant. Accountants typically charge hundreds of dollars to file the most basic income tax return. This is a travesty, as vast majority of Americans file no more than the most basic and simple tax returns, and preparing and filing the most basic income tax returns requires the bare minimum of actual work on part of the accountant. If your returns are simple, you would do well to download a decent tax software from the internet, prepare your returns yourself, and file it online using the same software. The better tax software in the market have a basic version which is practically free and paid versions that are very economical as well – considering the alternative available, your old pricey accountant.

Secondly, a good tax software typically makes the process of preparing and filing taxes an absolute breeze as they are highly user friendly. The excellent user interface coupled with the “help” guidelines available means you cannot miss out on anything by using this software to file your 2013 taxes. Also, the filing is a very safe and foolproof process with no software hitches or glitches to affect you. The better tax software services have a team of accountants willing to help you out online or by phone, if you find something in your returns that confuses you.

Lastly, using a good tax software makes it possible for you to receive your refund much faster from the government. This is because with a tax software, you use the e-file to file your returns with the IRS. The e-filing process simplifies greatly the process of getting a quick refund as the refund amount is sent directly by the government to your bank account. There is absolutely no reason for you to wait for the refund check to arrive at your address by mail – which usually takes a long time.
